The IT skills gap is widening, and academia can’t pivot fast enough to meet the needs of a changing workforce. Emerging training modalities like MOOCs are enabling new educational opportunities for learners all over the world, potentially revolutionizing learning at scale. Discover how Microsoft is tackling the skills gap with the Microsoft Professional Program, a role-based, technology-agnostic certification program that helps workers to build and hone the skills necessary to compete in our digitally transforming economy. The Microsoft Professional Program in Data Science has already attracted over 50,000 learners from 189 different countries, with over 1,000 graduates in only six months of the program, all using an open-source platform (Open edX) available to any organization for free.
